Hobbies
Being one of four girls (my poor Dad…) has definitely shaped me as a person. My eldest sister has a severe learning disability called William’s Syndrome. Her disability means that she has the mental capacity of a 9 year old; so living with her has made my other sisters and I particularly patient and eager to teach and explain things to others. I’m a very sociable person and enjoy meeting new people from all backgrounds but also think nothing can top spending time with my friends and family. My family hosted foreign language students and teachers from all over the world and they shared their experiences of living in countries like Brazil, Japan and Estonia. Moving to Copenhagen for my year abroad has continued to allow me to meet people from all over the globe. I love to travel and recently visited South East Asia and inter-railed around Eastern Europe. I’m an avid bookworm and love reading both fiction and non-fiction. Kate Atkinson is my favourite author but I’ve recently started the Neopolitan Novels and I am obsessed. I also love films and believe Damien Chazelle is this year’s nonpareil after watching both La La Land and Whiplash. Alongside my studies I attended drama and dance classes and used to play hockey. However, my hockey skills were inauspicious (to say the least) and so I ended up quitting in order to focus on my other interests. I still love drama and dance and go to the theatre regularly.
